Omprakash Ghimire has spent over two decades reporting on Nepal's press, public institutions, and cultural life. His work sits at the intersection of accountability journalism and long-form documentation — asking not just what is happening now, but what will be lost if no one writes it down.
Since 2011, alongside his newsroom work, he has led field documentation projects across the Kathmandu Valley: recording oral histories from Newari artisan families, photographing ceremonies and craft traditions under pressure from urbanisation, and archiving material now used by researchers and cultural institutions.
He speaks regularly at journalism and heritage conservation forums, and continues to mentor early-career reporters entering culture and investigative beats.
